Price first, always. No work starts until you agree.
Charging IC repairs are quoted after diagnosis because the price depends on the model and the fault. If the problem turns out to be only the port, our charging port prices apply.
What we check and repair
The charging IC is the small chip that controls charging and the USB connection. When it fails, a new cable or port does not help.

Questions people ask
What is a charging IC?
It is a small chip on the motherboard that manages charging and the USB connection. If it is damaged by a power surge, a bad charger, a drop or liquid, the phone can stop charging even with a good port, cable and battery.
How do I know it is the IC and not the charging port?
If the port is clean, the cable works and a new port or battery did not help, the fault is usually on the board. We test it before we quote, so we do not replace parts that are fine.
Can you repair it without replacing the whole board?
In many cases yes. We repair the chip or the circuit around it by micro-soldering, which is usually cheaper than a new board. If a repair is not possible we tell you before you pay for it.
Why does my iPhone get hot while charging?
It can be a failing battery, a faulty charger, or a fault in the charging circuit drawing too much power. Unplug it and bring it in rather than keep charging it.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on your model and the fault, and it is confirmed after diagnosis, before any work starts.
